Willy Wonka's DISASTERIOUS 2005 Reboot

“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” movie adaptations tend to go one of two ways: it’s either a good piece of media that, unfortunately, doesn’t follow the book; or it can be like the movie we’re talking about today, and be a good adaptation while also being absolutely horrendous. The 2005 film falls under the latter category. Johnny Depp and many others working on this film may be awesome people, but the 2005 version of Wonka and the film as a whole are, in a word, just awful. Today, I am finally going to be giving my two cents worth on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s 2005 film adaptation, why it’s the worst Willy Wonka branded piece of media to have ever come out of the Roald Dahl Estate, and how the film led to the downfall and stagnation of the franchise.
