BMW E30 M20B25 Engine Rebuild Restoration - The Machine Shop | Part 8

Check out AutoDoc at the links below! https://www.autodoc.co.uk/?utm_source... https://interstitials.onelink.me/1036...    / @autodocuk   In this episode, I finally show you the work that's been carried out at Rectidama. A great engine machine shop close to me. https://rectidama.es. Firstly the head is completely dismantled. It's then ultrasonically cleaned in preparation for a pressure test, which it thankfully passed. The block was then skimmed and it's cylinders polished. All of the parts that needed to be put back in were also ultrasonically cleaned. A small repair on the head was necessary as the coolant, and probably water mix had eroded away some of the coolant channel. The head was then skimmed again and the new rocker arms, valves, springs, eccentrics, seals, bearings and the rest of it was put, in the same way, they came out. The new piston rings were then fitted to the clean pistons, ready to go in after the new bearing shells and crankshaft were also fitted. The pistons and connecting rods were then attached and tightened down to the correct specification. Finally, the valves were adjusted to 0.25 to complete the job. Visit https://rectidama.es for any and all engine work you need in Spain. They serve all of Spain. I cannot wait to get this engine going for the first time. However, the engine I will be putting back into the touring will be the coupe's old engine. Overhauled a while ago, but in good condition. This engine will have to wait for the coupe to be pretty much finished before it goes in. #BMW #engine #restoration These are the exact manuals I trust for my restorations.
