Aiming for an environment where aquatic plants can grow even more beautifully, this time we're reviewing the water quality of our 60cm planted aquarium. While aquatic plants are currently growing in the tank, to further enhance the growth of soft-water-loving plants such as Rotala turnadensis and Rotala macrandra 'Caradi', we're going to try ultra-soft water. This time, we'll be changing the filter media. We'll replace the Black Hole filter media with new ones and also introduce ion exchange resin. We'll monitor the progress, including how low we can lower the hardness, and the growth and color changes of the aquatic plants. Will the aquatic plants finally start to thrive? We'll report on future changes in this 60cm planted aquarium series. What GH (General Hardness) level do you aim for when growing soft-water-loving aquatic plants?
