Homo naledi and the Chamber of Secrets | Jeremy DeSilva
The largest collection of ancient human bones ever discovered in Africa was excavated from chambers deep within South Africa’s Rising Star cave. In 2013, more than 1,500 fossils of the newly discovered early human species Homo naledi were unearthed. In this lecture, Leakey Foundation grantee and Homo naledi study team member Dr. Jeremy DeSilva discusses what we know about these fossils and how these findings are changing not only science, but how we define “human.” "Homo naledi and the Chamber of Secrets" was presented at the Houston Museum of Natural Science on 5/21/2019 as part of The Leakey Foundation's Speaker Series program in partnership with the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
