This week on "When I Grow Up": working as a freight train engineer. What's the difference between driving a freight train and a passenger train? What do you transport on a freight train? What kind of training do you need to become an engineer? And what kind of tasks do you perform when driving a freight train solo? These and other questions will be answered in this new episode of "When I Grow Up." Eleven-year-old Rinaldo wants to be an engineer when he grows up. From a young age, Rinaldo has been interested in everything related to transport and transportation. Rinaldo has many toy trains at home, and he believes trains are good for the environment and therefore a good mode of transportation. He also believes that as an engineer, you have to pay close attention to signals and speed. Jochem van Gelder surprises Rinaldo at the train station, after which they travel together to one of the largest rail freight operators in Europe. Before they can begin their workday as train drivers, they'll compete against each other in a challenge to test their railway knowledge. Jochem and Rinaldo will have to recognize several traffic signs and signals. Then they'll embark on a train ride to the Maasvlakte, but first, they'll have to inspect the locomotive. During the ride, the driver will explain everything they need to know and how the train works. After their ride, they'll arrive at the Maasvlakte, where they'll transfer to another freight train. Before this train can depart, they'll have to perform a brake test. Will Rinaldo and Jochem be able to achieve a good result in the challenge, and what the rest of their workday will look like?
