Nachtfotografie in Köln | Nikon Zf & TTArtisan 75mm f/1.5 – der Budget-Biotar-Klon im Test

Two hours of night, a Russian clone replica, and Cologne's main train station – see the result here. ────────────────────────────── 00:00 Intro & Topic 00:44 Zeiss Biotar, Helios 40 - Why the TTArtisan 75mm f/1.5? 03:51 Photowalk: All photos from Cologne 08:40 Conclusion on the TTArtisan Swirly Bokeh 11:20 Comparison images with the Helios 44-2 ────────────────────────────── 📌 WHAT THIS VIDEO IS ABOUT My friend Sascha (  / alpha_sixtynine  ) and I spent two hours at night exploring the area around Cologne's main train station – with my Nikon Zf and the TTArtisan 75mm f/1.5, an affordable replica of the legendary Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar. I bought this lens because my Helios 44-2 is simply too shaky (and too short) for street photography – and yet I still wanted to retain that swirly, imperfect bokeh look. Whether the TTArtisan delivers on its promises at night, and what it really takes to make the effect stand out – I'll show you here. ... ─────────────────────────────── 📷 EQUIPMENT IN THIS VIDEO Nikon Zf TTArtisan 75mm f/1.5 (with adapter, total weight approx. 800g) Adapter: PHOLSY M42 to Nikon Z Helios 44-2 (for comparison, 58mm) M42 bayonet mount) ────────────────────────────── 🔍 WHAT IS THE BIOTAR CLONE? The Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar is a lens from the 1930s to 1950s, known for its characteristic "swirly bokeh" effect: The out-of-focus area spins like a vortex – especially noticeable when there are many bright points in the background (points of light, leaves, bokeh balls). The Helios 44-2 is a Soviet-made copy of the Biotar 58mm, while the Helios 40 – and the TTArtisan 75mm – are based on the larger Biotar 75mm. The effect is created by the optical design and works best when the light in the background is diffused: in a forest, at dusk, or with backlighting. In the city, you have to actively try to create it. ─────────────────────────────── 💬 NOW IT'S YOUR TURN Do you prefer the wild, swirly look – or do you want a calm, clean background?
