South Wales Aviation Museum (SWAM) - Vampires To Phantoms

A visit to the South Wales Aviation Museum (SWAM) ,St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan. The aviation museum opened in Spring 2019 and is run by plane enthusiast volunteers, at the time of our visit it is open to the public on weekends. The current opening times are 10am to 4.30pm. There is a hangar full of aircraft which you can get up close to and touch and there are a few you can get inside, including taking a seat in the Phantom FG.1 jet. You can also take a seat in the Boeing 747 simulator. There is also small WWII exhibition and some dressing up stuff for kids. As well as the planes, engines, cockpits and helicopters, very importantly, they do have a cafe. The museum has a suggested entrance donation of £5 for adults.
