In an official statement on Tuesday (July 21, 2026), the IRGC described the destruction as a "dark night" for US bases in the Middle East. The IRGC said it attacked several US military bases as part of Operation Nasr-2. The attacks reportedly hit early warning and missile defense radars, as well as communications and satellite systems. Furthermore, a Patriot air defense battery, a hangar housing MQ-9 drones, and several UAVs were also destroyed or severely damaged. "The brave sons of mighty Iran dealt a crushing blow to the desperate enemy, while the dark night continues for US radar and air defense systems across the region," the IRGC said, as quoted by RT, Thursday (July 23, 2026). The IRGC described the attack as a radar suppression campaign aimed at paving the way for a larger wave of missile and drone attacks against US forces. Neither the US, Kuwait, Bahrain, nor Jordan have confirmed reports of the destruction of radar systems, aircraft, or air defense equipment. So far, Washington has acknowledged four of its soldiers were killed in the Iranian retaliatory attack. However, The New York Times reported on Monday (July 20, 2026) that the Pentagon was withholding information about dozens of soldiers injured in the previously undisclosed attack.
