Okonomiyaki - Japanese savory comfort food! #japanesefood #okonomiyaki
Hey guys! It's Machiko! On today's episode of A Million Things About Japan podcast, I want to talk about okonomiyaki. It is a traditional Japanese style staple food, that is famous in Osaka and Hiroshima, but do you know the origin of this savory food enjoyed all over Japan? I am very excited about this episode because okonomiyaki is one of my favorite foods! I love the different variations, including monjayaki which is actually from Tokyo. There is a famous area, Tsukishima, that is well-known for monjayaki. So if you are curious about this beloved Japanese comfort food, or just love Japanese food in generally, I think you will love okonomiyaki! If you have visited Japan, maybe you have tried one of the types of okonomiyaki. You can customize it with the ingredients you like, so please tell me about your experience with okonomiyaki. Do you have any topics or favorite Japanese foods you would like to learn about? Please leave a comment below and I will try to create an episode about it, if I can. Also, I am offering private tours for people who are visiting the Kanto area, specifically in Kamakura or Enoshima. I would love to show you around the area that is very popular daytrip destination.
