The Matthew Restelli Murder: A Family's Deadly Conspiracy Unraveled

On July 12th, 2024, 42-year-old Matthew Restelli was shot at his mother-in-law's house in American Fork., Utah. His brother-in-law, Kevin Ellis admits to shooting him, but claims it was in self-defense. Matthew's wife, Kathryn, her mother, Tracey Grist and her brother, Kevin were arrested and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder (and other charges). In July 2025 Kathryn pleaded guilty to her charges; Kevin and Tracey are in jail awaiting their trial, currently expected to take place in January 2026. Let's start unpacking this wild case together!
