Co-directors Natalie Musteata and Alexandre Singh share the project’s genesis, including the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protest movement in Iran. They also reveal their extensive research process in a visit to the New York Public Library’s Picture Collection, and break down how scanning locations with the iPhone app Polycam—then building a full pre-visualization in Blender—helped shape the film’s precise, sophisticated visual language. We also hear from the film’s producers Valentina Merli, Violeta Kreimer, and Carol Cohen. Costume designer Rezvan Farsijani discusses the conception of the iconic black-and-white dress, and cinematographer.
