Raising BIG HEAVY BEAMS using a Z-Pulley System in the Barndominium Build. 3:1 Mechanical Advantage

Lifting 150Lb, 16 Ft long wood beams, 16 feet into the air to set on top of the side walls to separate the open living space from the lofts. Kristen and Makayla did it, using a Z-Pulley System that is commonly used in rescue scenarios where it creates a 3:1 mechanical advantage. The object lifted weighs 1/3 less... but it take 3 x the length of pull. For every 3 feet of rope pulled, the object only rises 1 foot. They actually lifted 2 beams into place which added a really cool feature to our Barndominium Ceiling, Who We Are: A family building a Ranch from Scratch in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas - Jason, Kristen and our daughter Makayla.
