Barbell Mod: Don't Let High Temps KILL Your 10L80 Transmission or Valve Body

The 3.0 Duramax with the 10-speed 10L80 transmission is known for running hot — dangerously hot. In this video, I tear down the factory GM transmission bypass valve to show how it restricts cooler flow with a thermostat-style wax pellet. Then I compare it to the PPE full-flow bypass valve that completely removes this restriction — and helped drop my trans temps by up to 75°F. I also take a first look at the drop-in "barbell" valve that installs into the factory housing to improve flow without completely deleting the thermostat.
