Surely you've heard that everything in the Universe tends toward disorder... That things, sooner or later, unravel on their own. I'm Elisa, and I spend my days among laboratories, 3D printers, microbioreactors, cells, and tissues. My job is to build, model, and give form. But even there, in those ordered worlds, entropy makes itself felt. In this talk, I'll take you on a journey between science and life, between the equations of thermodynamics and the daily attempts to keep everything under control. We'll talk about flow, chaos, and why—perhaps—beauty lies not in perfect order... but in how we learn to navigate disorder. After earning a degree and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Padua, she was an Associate Research Scientist at Columbia University, winning a NYSCF scholarship and a business certification. Co-founder of EpiBone Inc. (Phase I-II FDA), she has been at DII-UniPd since 2016, and Associate Professor since 2018. Winner of an ERC Starting Grant (2017) and two PoCs, she also directs BIAMET at IRP Padova. A pioneer in the development of bioreactors and devices for clinical applications, with over 15 years of experience.
