2026 Ducati Desmo450 MX First Ride – Full Review & Impressions

#motocross The Ducati Desmo450 dirt bike is officially here! Motocross Action test rider Josh Mosiman had the opportunity to fly to Bologna, Italy, to check out the Ducati headquarters and be one of the first journalists to ride the 2026 Ducati Desmo450. Ducati first decided to develop a 450 motocross bike in 2021. Their first engine design was ready to be tested in September of 2022, and they had their first full bike to test later in 2023. In 2024, Ducati participated in the Italian championship. In 2025, they are racing in the MXGP series, and in 2026, the Ducati Desmo 450 will be racing in America. This bike was both designed and manufactured by Ducati in Italy, and it features Ducati's Desmodromic valve system, which the Italians are famous for. It has an aluminum frame, Showa suspension with spring forks, Brembo brakes and hydraulic clutch, Pirelli tires, a D.I.D chain and Excel rims. The bike is set to have a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $11,495, and it is expected to be available in the U.S. in late July or August. Ducati is not requiring all of their street dealers to sell this bike; it’s only going to be at select dealers in the U.S., and each dealer must have a technician who’s certified through Ducati’s Desmo450 course on how to work on the dirt bike.
