Modeling Operational Carbon Emissions with the HERS Carbon Index
In 2022, RESNET published the third edition of its ANSI/RESNET/ICC Standard 301, which now includes a new CO2e Index. This first-of-its-kind index is based on hourly forward-looking CO2 emissions data from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s Cambium Database. The CO2e Index combines hourly energy simulations in RESNET®’s accredited software programs with Cambium’s hourly emissions data to provide a new metric that values when energy is used. This session will provide an overview of how the CO2e index works and show examples of how HERS® Index scores compare to CO2e Index scores. What is the connection LEED BD+C V4 Prerequisite EA Minimum Energy Performance? 2. *Analyze* the connection between accurately rating CO2 emissions and enhancing safety measures in home building, ensuring that designs prioritize energy efficiency and reduce the risk of harmful emissions. Where does this play into LEED Residential V4.1 EA Annual Energy Usage? 3. *Introduce* strategies for implementing the CO2e Index in home assessments to enhance the welfare of communities by promoting sustainable living practices that contribute to a healthier environment. What is the connection LEED BD+C V4 Prerequisite EA Minimum Energy Performance? 4. *Articulate* the importance of comprehensive training on the CO2 Index and its measures, which empowers stakeholders to make informed decisions that positively impact both public welfare and environmental sustainability.
