Abandoned Governor's Estate
The summer residence of Chase Osborn represents an interesting and complex time. Now, called the Chase Osborn Preserve, it is used by the University of Michigan for natural research. But, the historic value seems to be ignored by the University. Perhaps they had to promise to allow it to fall into disrepair and return to nature. We don't know. We explore the abandoned preserve with fellow adventurers, "Selfie" and "Man Down". Selfie's family has maintained a family cottage on Sugar Island (near the Osborn Preserve) for a couple of generations. We get a tour of the cottage and then head a little ways north to explore the preserve. Some links below are mentioned in the video.
