珍事！！崖っぷちのライオンの赤ちゃん（クレイ）とべ動物園にて

A baby lion named Clay got stuck on a narrow platform and was unable to return. He nearly fell into the moat (deep moat) six meters below, but a visitor quickly alerted the zookeepers, who were able to safely rescue him. It was a very tense situation, as the platform was extremely narrow. While the moat is designed to be safe even if a baby falls, there was still a risk that Clay, who is only a little over two months old, would have been injured if he had fallen, so we were very grateful that he did not fall. After being rescued, we were relieved to see Clay playing with the zookeepers as if nothing had happened. A male lion cub, born on May 5, 2022, has finally made its public debut. His father is Neo and his mother is Sakura. He is the half-brother of Lala (Ishikawa Zoo) and Io (Asahiyama Zoo). He was just two months old, and his short limbs and round eyes were incredibly adorable. His mother, Sakura, had been showing signs of a decreased appetite, so he has been hand-fed since May 29th. The name was decided on July 24th as "Clay" (after the lion character from the movie "Sing"). July 26, 2022, at Tobe Zoo.
