Off Grid Hydroponics System (Solar Powered Build + Results)

We’re racing against time this season… and our soil just isn’t ready. So we decided to try something new. In this video, we build a simple hydroponics system as an experiment to see if we can grow food faster while continuing to improve our sandy soil. This is our first attempt, and we’re not sure how it’s going to turn out. We also share updates on our transplanted basil and pie plate hibiscus as we continue learning what works (and what doesn’t) on our small farm. 🌱 In this video: Building our first DIY hydroponics system Basil transplant updates (successes and failures) Pie plate hibiscus progress in Zone 9a Why we’re testing hydroponics while building soil What we’re hoping to learn from this experiment This is real-time farming—trial, error, and figuring it out as we go. If you’ve tried hydroponics, let us know your experience in the comments.
