After releasing my 6 petal flower tutorial I received several requests to create a full wall hanging tutorial using that pattern. This is what I’ll be sharing with you today! I’ve also figured out an easier method to create the flower which I’ll show you during today’s tutorial. There are a few other variations too - I’ll be using 5mm string to create this flower and I’m using a berry knot in the middle. If you enjoy this tutorial it would really help me out if you could hit the thumbs up below and subscribe to my channel. Thanks again. Let’s get started! The full wall hanging measures 24 inches wide, 26 inches long. Cut 11 pieces of 5mm string (I’m using the colour eucalyptus), each piece is 10 ft long. Fold each piece in half and attach to your driftwood or dowel using a Lark’s Head knot. Tie a double half hitch knot (DHHK) with the two middle cords. Using the inside right cord as your filler cord tie 4 more DHHKs. Repeat on the left side of your work. Tie a SK with the 4 middle cords. Tie 2 SKS underneath. Tie one more SK with the 4 middle cords. Tie 4 DHHKs on the right and left sides of your work to create the bottom section of the petal. Tie one more DHHK with the two middle cords to connect the two sides. Use the outside left cord as your filler cord and tie a DHHK inline with the middle of the first petal. Using the same filler cord tie 7 more DHHKs working to the right. If needed adjust the spacing in between the cords at are attached to your driftwood. Skip the first cord on the left and tie a SK with the next 4 cords. Skip the first 4 cords and tie a SK with the next 4 cords. Skip the first cord on the left and tie another SK with the next 4 cords. Skip the first 3 cords on the left and tie a SK with the next 4 cords. Using the outside left cord as your filler cord tie 8 DHHKs to create the bottom half of the petal. Create another petal using the same method as you did on the right side of your work. Use the inside right cord as your filler cord and tie 2 DHHKs working to the right. Repeat on the left side of your work. Grab a 2 ft piece of ribbon and tie 4 SKs around the 4 middle cords to create a berry knot. Pull the cords through at the top of your work and tie one more SK underneath the berry. Cut off the access ribbon. Leave the ribbon at the back of your work for now. Tie 2 more DHHKs on the left and right sides of your work and then one more DHHK with the two middle cords to complete the middle section of the flower. In the original tutorial to create the 4th and 5th petals I started at the top of the petals on the outside and worked in and up. This can be difficult so this time around we will start on the inside and work out. Use the 9th cord from the left as your filler cord and tie 8 DHHKs working down and to the left. Tie 4 SKs in the middle of the petal using the same method as the last two petals. Use the current 9th cord from the left as your filler cord and tie 8 DHHKs working down and to the left to create the bottom section of the petal. Repeat on the right side of your work. Use the same method as the first petal to create the 6th petal. Cut two pieces of 5mm string, each piece is 5 ft long. Fold each piece in half and attach to your driftwood about 3 1/2 inches in on either side. Cut a 2 ft piece of ribbon and create a gathering knot in the middle of your work. Attach fringe along both sides using a Cow Hitch Knot. The length of the fringe varies between 4 ft and 6 ft (which is then folded in half and attached). Alternate between adding one piece of 5mm string, and then one group of one piece of 5mm string and one piece of ribbon. Add 20 pieces/groups to each side. Thanks for watching!
