Το βιβλίο του «Άτλαντας του ανθρωπίνου Εγκεφάλου» έλαβε το The Award for Excellence in Publishing in Medical Science, Assoc American Publishers και The British Medical Association Illustrated Book Award. George Paxinos is Scientia Professor of Medical Sciences at Neuroscience Research Australia and The University of New South Wales. He studied psychology at Berkeley, McGill and Yale. He is a corresponding member of the Academy of Athens. He published 55 books on the brain of humans and experimental animals and a novel (Κατ΄ Εικόνα). His first book, The Rat Brain in Stereotaxic Coordinates, is the most cited neuroscience publication. His Atlas of the Human Brain won the Association of American Publishers Award for Excellence (1997) and the British Medical Association Illustrated Book Award (2016).
