Poole Twin Sails Lift Bridge, Dorset

Poole Twin Sails Lift Bridge, Dorset Location: Twin Sails Bridge, Poole Postcode: BH15 1HX Date Filmed: 21/08/2024 Video Filmed at 18:39 Another Bridge located near the centre of Poole. This bridge is different to the Main one in Poole, it raises forming 2 triangular shapes. The equipment that was installed here was 4 Wigwags (Normal), 8 Barriers (4 for the road and 4 for the pedestrian walkway) and ferry lights (Red & Green) The end poles (For the ends of the triangular shapes of the bridge) had broken off so they were just left out on ground (featured on the last photo of the video 11:25) This and the Main Poole Bridge is often used once an hour unless if used for more Sail Boats if requested that they need the bridge(s) to be raised. The ferry lights (Shown on the side of the wigwag) were still showing Red while the bridge was still raising and the Sail Boat went though just as the ferry lights were about to change to Green. Since there was only one Sail Boat that wanted to pass, the ferry lights changed back to Red a few seconds later, and bridge started to lower again. In this video, I left it uncut again so you can see the full raise normally from start to finish. The Bridge took about 4 mins to fully raise despite the Sail Boat going through too early and about approximately 3 mins to fully lower. Apologies it was very windy here at this time. Hope you enjoy anyway! Thanks for Watching!
