Guided Meditation - 04:41 Probably my favourite release from one of my favourite hardcore bands around right now. This was so much fun to learn and play. However, I'm not all that pleased with my cover tbh but decided to upload it anyway. I don't really think I've done it justice. Gel have a pretty layered, effects-laden sound (for a hardcore punk band anyway) and I just wasn't able to emulate that tone very well. I added a bit of reverb and modulation through my Spark amp but it's nowhere near what's on the record. There's a few obvious mistakes here and there, but there's also other bits that I just know I'm not playing right because, either I can't recreate those sounds, or because I'm just not that good. The lead bit in the bridge of Mental Static sounds awful and I couldn't nail the galloping bit in Guided Meditation. Plus there's all these cool sounds missing and I've tried to make some noise using my pick to make up for it, but it sounds kinda lame haha. But oh well! I had fun giving it a go and I thought I should upload it anyway. This is where I'm at right now and maybe one day down the line I'll revisit it. Please don't be too harsh in the comments!
