Enrichment walks aren’t obedience sessions—they’re an opportunity for your dog to explore the world, gather information, and meet their natural behavioral needs. In this lesson, I demonstrate how I use a long line to give my dog freedom while quietly building a simple wait and let’s go routine for safety. Rather than asking for constant attention, I allow my dog to sniff, explore, and make choices, only asking for a brief check-in when it’s time to continue moving together. The result is a walk that’s enjoyable for both the dog and the handler while still maintaining clear communication.
