I Rebuilt the WORST Team in English Cricket

Gloucestershire are ranked *18th out of 18* in my Red Ball Cricket Stats Elo ratings, making them the lowest-rated red-ball county team in England heading into this Cricket Captain 2026 rebuild. Their County Championship history makes for brutal reading: ❌ 126 seasons without winning the County Championship ❌ 13 wooden spoons ❌ Relegated after finishing bottom of Division One in 2022 ❌ Went through the entire 2023 Championship season without a win ❌ Finished seventh and sixth in Division Two in the following two seasons But there is one massive contradiction. In 2024, Gloucestershire somehow won the T20 Blast. That means there is clearly talent inside this squad—but can I turn them into a team capable of consistently competing for trophies? I have five seasons to complete two major objectives: 🏆 Win the County Championship for the first time in Gloucestershire’s history 🏆 Win the T20 Blast To succeed, I’ll need to rebuild the squad, improve recruitment, develop Gloucestershire’s young players and find cricketers capable of winning in both red-ball and T20 cricket.
