Street Photography in CUBA in 2026

In this final video from the Cuba 2026 series, we dive into the streets of Trinidad and Havana, exploring the raw, unscripted moments that make street photography in Cuba so compelling. From the pastel coloured colonial buildings to the amazing avenues of Havana Vieja, every corner offers a new street scene waiting to be captured. The textures, the light, and the people all come together in a way that feels both chaotic and incredibly well composed. In Trinidad, the pace is slower, with easy interactions and some scenes that feel almost frozen in place. Havana, on the other hand, pulses with movement, classic cars rolling by, music drifting through open windows, and streets that demand quick reflexes and intuition behind the camera. Street photography here is not just about images, but about connection. Every interaction holds a human element, a shared moment between photographer and subject, whether acknowledged or not. It is a reminder that beyond the colours and architecture, it is the people who truly define these places. Like much of Cuba, both Trinidad and Havana are experiencing change. Tourism continues to fluctuate, and the realities of daily life are evident in the streets. We touch on some of that with the water segment in Trinidad. Yet, despite the mounting challenges, there is an undeniable warmth and openness. The resilience and spirit of the Cuban people shine through in every interaction, making this experience as meaningful as it is visually inspiring.
