Demografischer Wandel verändert alles! | Eike Wenzel | TEDxHeidelberg

The basic facts about demographic change have long been known. But how this influential megatrend will change our approach to innovation over the next 30 years remains a great mystery for many. Yet it's actually quite simple: Demographic change means that we are all getting older (on every continent) – but most of us feel younger. Demographic change isn't just affecting the elderly; it's transforming our entire society. In his presentation, Eike will show how demographic change is also manifesting itself among younger generations, what changes people are experiencing during the "rush hour of life," and what consequences this has for the markets of tomorrow. As the founder and director of the Institute for Trend and Future Research in Heidelberg, Dr. Wenzel has been working on future trends for years and advises companies and institutions. Through a cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Heilbronn, the ITZ is the first trend research company with a permanent research link to a German university. Wenzel is the author of several bestsellers, editor of the monthly Megatrends newsletter, and co-editor of the Cash Kurs Trends newsletter. He also teaches at national and international universities. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
