A farmer from Polule, Szypliszki Commune, blocked the municipal road. Jan Pawłowski, for he is the one in question, decided to draw attention to his problem. The road runs through his land, which complicates the settlement of EU subsidies. Two years ago, the mayor promised to create a new lane. This didn't happen. What's more, the municipality now expects the farmer to cover half of the surveying costs when the new road is being constructed. This amounts to thousands of złoty. Upon learning of this, Jan Pawłowski felt cheated and, together with his wife Teresa, erected a barrier on the road. Mariusz Grygieńć, the mayor of Szypliszki Commune, sees the matter differently. He claims that the matter could have been resolved two years ago, but the farmer was not satisfied with the proposed division. Grygieńć points out that in similar cases, farmers paid the entire surveying costs themselves, while in the Pawłowskis' case, the municipality and councilors made concessions. What should people who want access to their plots do? - The law requires the farmer to provide access to the road - says Grygieńć, adding that such situations are resolved by the police.
