Steve Austin: Not Wanting to Return to WWE in 2000, Neck Surgery, Emotional Farewell With The Rock

Gregory Iron sat down with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at 317 Gimmick Street to record a couple episodes of "The Steve Austin Show." The "Wrestle Days" documentary crew was following Greg that morning to capture the unique friendship between "The Handicapped Hero" and "The Texas Rattlesnake." This is a portion of that footage from October of 2018, never-before-seen until now! You'll hear an exclusive and candid conversation between Iron and Austin -- with content you've never heard from "The Bionic Redneck." in other interviews. Steve chats with Greg about his 1997 neck injury and the inevitable surgery that he had in the winter of 1999. Austin tells us how he convinced doctors to clear him to get back in the ring in 1997, when he knew he couldn't put off his neck surgery any longer, what he did during his time off in 1999, how he told Vince McMahon that he wasn't coming back in 2000, his near-death experience while blowing up the DX Express, his final run with The Rock in 2003, the emotional experience of having One More Round at WrestleMania XIX, how many people knew it was his last match, his farewell speech at Survivor Series 2003, and more.
