Where apples meet art, adventure and hidden gems

Join Myke Bartlett for another spotlight, this time in the town of Donnybrook, located in Western Australia's South West. Starting the day at Frog's Hollow, this quirky stop is home to a collection of frog statues placed by locals and travellers. The collection started in 2016 and has since grown to the collection that stands today. Next Myke makes a visit to Sheehan's farm, taking the opportunity to try freshly picked fruit. Tom shares his expertise on picking the perfect plum, handing Myke a box to pick his own fruit for him to enjoy later. After a long drive, the Apple Valley Fun Park is an ideal stop for kids to burn off energy. It's big enough to keep the kids entertained and even features a hamster wheel for the kids to run on. Donnybrook isn't well known as a gold mining town, but it did once have an operational mine. Myke visits Hunter's Venture Mine, before panning for gold of his own, learning the tricks to spot gold in his pan. Myke finishes the day at local business including Oakways Estate for some local wines and a meal, the Community Op Shop and Artisans to check out the local arts and crafts.
