Using an Innovative Silicone Tool to Vacuum Form an RC Car Body
In this episode of Making Things with Milo, Milo takes on vacuum forming an RC car body which presents an interesting challenge. Due to the undercuts present in the shape of the car body, a traditional rigid tool can't be used. Rather than redesigning the car body, Milo makes a flexible silicone mold that sits atop a rigid support structure. 0:00 - Project Goals 3:20 - Prepping the Model 6:04 - Pouring Smooth-Sil 940 Mold 11:29 - Creating Free Form AIR HT Inner Core 18:19 - Pouring Smooth-Sil 960 Overlay 27:26 - Prepping the Tool for Vacuum Forming 29:38 - Vacuum Forming the RC Car Body #Thermoforming #RCcar#HowItsMade Adult Supervision Required Keep Out Of Reach Of Children --- Make It Now! with Smooth-On https://www.smooth-on.com / smoothon / smoothon / smoothon
