x3 B-52 Stratofortress Bombers arrive at RAF Fairford + x2 B-1B Ramstein diverts return in darkness

With the escalating situation in Iran and Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s recent U-turn on allowing the United States to use British military bases for defensive action, this weekend saw a heavy build up of military airpower at the usually quiet Gloucestershire base. After the previous video filmed over the weekend    • B-1B Lancer Bombers back at RAF Fairford w...   Monday saw the already heavy military presence at RAF Fairford bolstered by the arrival of x3 Minot based B-52 Stratofortress Bombers callsign HOOKY flight, as well as more supporting aircraft delivering supplies and personnel to support the growing military presence at the Gloucestershire airbase. Given the rapidly developing situation in the Middle East, and following the most recent UK Government decision, heavy attention has once again turned to RAF Fairford. The Ministry of Defence confirmed the US started using British bases for “specific defensive operations to prevent Iran firing missiles into the region” after American bombers landed at a Gloucestershire base. By Monday evening, Fairford had no less than x5 supersonic, variable-sweep wing Rockwell B-1 Lancers, 4 of which had arrived firstly from Ellsworth Air Force Base then a fifth from Dyess Air Force Base, as well as x3 B-52s all on base and as if things weren’t impressive enough + a further x2 B-1B's returned from Ramstein Air Force Base, which had diverted there due to poor visibility at Fairford on Sunday, making a fantastic sight and sound arriving under the cover of darkness with MOLT flight, leaving one left to return from Ramstein later in the night. As the fast moving situation in the Middle East continues to escalate at pace, and impacts of rising fuel prices and global markets start to take effect, it will be interesting to see what more arrives at Fairford over the coming days and weeks as the USAF continues building up a heavy military presence, and the world waits to see what course things take... | 09.03.2026 I hope you enjoy this video and thank you for watching!
