VIAS Webinar: Utilize Abaqus to Solve Contact Problems and Troubleshoot Convergence Issues
Webinar Overview: Abaqus is a general nonlinear FEA package which allows modelling of complex multi-physics phenomenon, subjected to complex loading and boundary conditions. The complex multi-physics problems require an analyst to be familiar with sources of nonlinearities and techniques to resolve the numerical problems arising due to nonlinearities. In a structural mechanics problem, there are three sources of nonlinearities: (1) Large deformation (which results in a coupling of coordinates), (2) Contact (which results in changing boundary condition) and (3) Material (due to which solution becomes complex as stress-strain relations are nonlinear). A complex problem may generally involve all three sources of nonlinearities present. This webinar provides a brief overview of nonlinear modelling capabilities in Abaqus with special emphasis on how to obtain a reliable converged solution to the problem.
