Peugeot 408 Facelift 2026 Specifications: The restyled 408 retains its EMP2 V3 platform and remains available in three versions, all electrified. At the entry level, the fastback sedan retains the 145 hp mild-hybrid version equipped with the six-speed e-DCS6 automatic transmission (see our review of the restyled Peugeot 408 Hybrid 145). This version combines a 136 hp 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine with a timing chain with a small 28 hp 48V permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, powered by a 0.9 kWh lithium-ion battery. This version is capable of driving in electric mode up to 50% of the time in urban environments. The real news is the plug-in hybrid version, which sees its power increase from 225 to 240 hp. A first for Peugeot and for the Stellantis group. Equipped with the seven-speed e-DCS7 automatic transmission, it uses a 180 hp 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine and a 125 hp electric motor powered by a 14.6 kWh battery, providing a range of 85 km in electric mode. The electric e-408 version, meanwhile, remains at 213 hp (157 kW) and still offers a maximum range of 456 km with its 58.2 kWh battery.
