The classic Ray Stevens song "Mississippi Squirrel Revival" was released in December of 1984 as a single off of his "He Thinks He’s Ray Stevens" album. Originally, "Mississippi Squirrel Revival" was not intended to be a single, but was rush-released when various radio stations began playing the song.
