June 25, 2026 I'd been curious about Ogonzan for quite some time. Based on prior information, it was described as a steep mountain like Hakkensan, which is a type of mountain I'm not good at. Because of all that, I ended up starting quite late. It wasn't until I reached the fork in the path that I realized I'd misunderstood the route. I'd gotten the old and new routes mixed up. However, since the old route had some dangerous sections, I chose the old route for the ascent. It was the steep climb and traverse I'd imagined. The summit ridge was also quite nerve-wracking. It really is a type of mountain I'm not good at. However, what I realized after climbing it was that it wasn't a beautifully triangular pyramid-shaped mountain, but rather a mountain with a long, horizontal summit, like Hakkensan.
