Brave Dwarves 2 | Any% Speedrun in 56:35 [WR]

The barbarian turns out to be insanely overpowered — aside from the Old Mine boss battle, where I actually died once. The reason — the barbarian doesn't have a weapon like the wizard's Moon Crescent, which could easily destroy all the walls in the arena. This means the golem's bombs often explode near the player, if not fought from a distance (which would be much slower), which can take an entire life in one hit. The player therefore ends up having two options against the golem as the barbarian. The first one is to stand back and use a ranged weapon. As you can see, I tried the Steel Cutter, but it's painfully weak. You could probably use the Flying Machine instead, which can deal great damage, but I've found that weapon to be extremely inaccurate. The second option is what I eventually did — get the Brave Ring and just tank the golem. Or you can stock up on lives, buy the Ring of Fitness — doesn't matter, as long as you don't tank it with no buffs. That was my plan all along, I just had to wait for the shop next to the arena to open, so I figured I might as well spend that time throwing the Steel Cutters. Either way, this was probably my luckiest attempt ever, even if Magic Forest was an utter catastrophe. Case in point — this is a whopping 6-minute+ improvement over my previous PB. If Magic Forest had been as fortunate as on my very first playthrough, this would've been a low 54:00.
