Texturing Photorealistic Skin in Mari | Procedural Texture Generation in the Node Graph

In this Mari tutorial, you'll learn how to achieve life-like skin using procedural techniques in Mari's node graph. Join texture artist Sean Coates as he guides you through creating a procedural skin texture using Mari's node graph. Leveraging the power of Mari's non-destructive procedural system, Sean teaches you how to use Cloud nodes to create the dermal and sub-dermal layers of the skin, before demonstrating how nodes can be shared across a network to drive multiple channels. You'll then learn how Two Point Gradient nodes can be used to create soft effects, such as subsurface scattering, to add realism and life to the skin. Once the base layer of skin is finished, you'll create the appearance of pores, blemishes, and moles by combining different nodes into a bump map. Before exporting your textures out of Mari, Sean demonstrates how to optimize your node graph with Bake Point nodes.
