Alfa Romeo 4C was introduced in 2013 but unfortunately discontinued in 2020. During its nearly seven years of production, fewer than 10,000 units were sold worldwide, falling far short of Alfa Romeo’s initial sales estimate of 3,500 units per year. As a pioneer in Alfa Romeo’s brand makeover and return to the US market at that time, this was truly a pity. The Alfa 4C features a carbon fibre chassis supported by aluminium front and rear subframes, with a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive layout. Weighing less than 900 kg, it is powered by a modest 1.7 litre 1750 TBi turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, knowledgeable enthusiasts can tell from this mechanical setup and weight that the 4C is not a superficial supercar but a genuine performance car. Moreover, Alfa Romeo seems to understand that the 4C is all about pure driving enjoyment rather than ultimate speed and power. Most large manufacturers are unwilling to produce such sports cars nowadays due to production costs. Alfa Romeo is one of the few marques obsessed with driving feel. This time, Lung Sir and Edmond Lau tested the Alfa 4C at Dhammtshan and were captivated by it after the drive.
