México biocultural - Reserva de la Biósfera Calakmul

This reserve, considered the second largest tropical forest in the Americas and the best preserved in the region, is home to a large number of plant, bird, and mammal species. It is home to several endangered animals, such as the white-lipped peccary, the Central American tapir, the jaguar, the puma, and the king vulture. We will learn about some of the efforts being made to conserve the ecosystem and the work of some of the regional artisans.
