Concrete Speakers Tested by @GRResearch — The Measurements Shocked Us
We sent two of our speaker designs to @GRResearch for full third-party measurement and validation — because belief isn’t enough. We wanted real data before moving into production tooling. One design, the Encore, features a concrete cabinet molded using a custom 3D-printed form. The results were incredible: shifted cabinet resonance, smooth off-axis behavior, outstanding vertical performance, and some of the cleanest spectral decay Danny has ever measured. The second, newer design uses the D27 tweeter and M130 driver in a thinner-walled, curved cabinet. With a crossover made from only five parts, the speaker delivered exceptional phase coherence, beautiful off-axis response, and possibly the cleanest spectral decay GR-Research has ever seen.
