Description: Bringing awareness of 10 mental health patients in crisis, as an example, and the 4 different types of violent patients they can become when in crisis, or when not managed by EMS or PD properly. Safety, mitigation, verbal defusing techniques, knowing when to "bow out," and how empathy, not sympathy, can reduce exposure to patients attaching prehospital providers. Patient advocacy for providing the patient with the right resource hospital and no longer discarding this patient population.
