Earthquake Capitol(s) of The World - Are there really 3?, San Andreas Fault & James Dean crash site

So I finally removed one of the items on my bucket list by visiting Parkfield, a name known in the Geologic world for being the most monitored and observed earthquake zone on the planet. While on the way, I also visit two other cities which have at one time also been called The Earthquake Capitol of The World, Hollister and Coalinga, both of which have some relatively recent and ongoing seismic activity, and some of it rather large scale. The San Andreas Fault lies along the western edge of California, and in this video we explore some up close evidence of its ongoing energy and activity. I am reminded of this throughout the video, and also reminded of what a beautiful part of California this area lies within. It is a beautiful drive, peaceful and often remote, and a true playground for us photography and history nerds. There's also some interesting history we will discuss throughout the video, including a quick stop at James Dean's untimely crash site along Highways 41 and 46.
