“At Spot Prices, It’s Around 1.9 Years Payback” Snowline CEO on C$1.7B Valley Project
Snowline Gold (TSXV: SGD; OTCQB: SNWGF) surged to a C$1.9 billion market capitalization this year, as excitement builds around its Valley deposit in the Yukon. Speaking with Kitco Mining at the Precious Metals Summit Beaver Creek, CEO Scott Berdahl highlighted the project’s June PEA, which outlined an open-pit mine producing 340,000 ounces of gold annually for 20 years at all-in sustaining costs of US$844 per ounce. With gold now at US$3,650 per ounce, Berdahl notes that cash flow in the first five years averages 544,000 ounces annually, putting free cash flow at spot prices nearly equal to the project’s entire C$1.7 billion CapEx. “At spot prices, it’s around 1.9 years payback including ramp up...That really strengthens our position.” Snowline recently closed a C$102 million bought deal, leaving it with C$130 million in the treasury and multiple years of runway as it advances a pre-feasibility study. Beyond Valley, Berdahl emphasizes the company’s district-scale potential, with nine regional targets drilled this year. On infrastructure, he says, “Any government investment isn’t just benefiting one company. It’s a district that could benefit the Yukon for generations.” Looking forward, key catalysts include Valley’s upcoming resource update, progress on the PFS, results from exploration drilling, and ongoing work with First Nations and regulators.
