In this message based on Galatians 4, we discover an essential truth of the Gospel: in Jesus Christ, we are no longer slaves, but children of God. The Apostle Paul reminds us that the Law had a temporary role as a teacher to lead people to Christ. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus redeemed us from the bondage of sin and brought us into God's family through adoption. We will see: • what it means to be adopted by God; • why legalism is a return to spiritual bondage; • the richness of being able to call God "Abba, Father"; • Paul's pastoral heart, which desires to see Christ formed in believers; • the difference between living by grace and living by works, illustrated by Hagar and Sarah.
