It's funny to say, but this route is not typical of river travel. That cat said that motorboats are only good for getting from point A to point B. It doesn't matter if it's for fishing or other purposes. You can also do a little speeding on a speedboat. But the fact that a motorboat offers unique, very dynamic, and extremely rich river experiences is somehow kept quiet. Unless, perhaps, you'd go somewhere else—abroad, and always for a lot of money. Oh well. There's another, equally interesting experience. In fact, Lesnaya Sluch begins 15 kilometers upstream from the bridge near the village of Lenin, where, just south of the village of Zalyutichi, from the asphalt road, there are several approaches to the left-bank ridge, spectacularly crowned by a pine forest dotted with oak trees. It's a very beautiful, cozy place—one might even say fairytale-like. The next section of the forested Sluch, located between the ancient village of Zalyutichi and the village of Lenin, stands out in terms of accessibility due to its right bank. This is especially true for its floodplain oak groves, pine forests, and birch groves, with fairly secure access already in May. South of Lenin lies one of the most challenging sections of the forested Sluch, stretching almost to the village of Morshchinovichi. The first 4 kilometers below the wooden bridge are characterized by a predominantly meadowy right bank, moderately overgrown with trees and bushes. Here, access points are abundant even in mid-May, while the number of snags and washed-out trees in the riverbed gradually increases. The density of the latter reaches its peak when both banks are engulfed by forest. It was this section that the Captain described as the most difficult for a large raft to navigate. Meanwhile, the thoroughly stumped riverbed with its densely forested banks gives the section a particularly attractive appearance. Moreover, 5 kilometers from the bridge, there's an access road with a magnificent oak grove. Predictably, the shore can be accessed from the village of Buda, located 300 meters from the river, 7 kilometers from the wooden Lenin Bridge. Below Buda, the river is so beautiful that words fail to describe it. Here, sandbars increasingly appear in the sharp bends, even at such high water. Meanwhile, the diversity and number of oak groves along the banks is simply enchanting. It's truly a fairytale place, one you'll want to return to again and again. Only 14 kilometers from the bridge near the village of Lenin does the Sluch calm down a bit, emerging into a kilometer-long, gently winding stretch that heralds the village of Morshchinovichi. And now, attention! Especially for those who enjoy speeding down the river. Opposite the village of Morshchinovichi, there's a manual ferry leading to the village of Sukachi. Essentially, it's a small raft for a couple of people, attached by a chain to a cable connecting the banks. If you're speeding along on a speedboat and don't notice this cable, you could easily lose your head... The M13 road bridge is a particularly iconic landmark in Sluchi. Upstream from the bridge, and especially downstream, the left bank of the river is accessed from the highway for a long time. It's heavily forested, providing excellent spots for both camping and fishing at relatively high water. Incidentally, there are also access roads from this section to the right bank. Forest Wilderness Below the railway bridge, you'll find the wildest stretch of the forested Sluchi, stretching for 15 kilometers. It's composed of an endless series of diverse bends, bordered by ancient forests everywhere. Decorated with numerous sandbars, it conceals a series of stunning old riverbeds. Drevnya Vilcha is, without exaggeration, a particularly important landmark for both the Sluch River, which flows just 100 meters from the outskirts of the village, and the Pripyat River, located some 5.5 kilometers downstream. At the beginning of the season, while the floodplain meadows and, consequently, the tracks are still flooded, it is from the direction of the village of Vilcha that people begin their journey to the confluence of the Sluch and Pripyat Rivers, along the waterway known as Sluch. See you at the Lakes and Rivers of Belarus! #Sluch#Pripyat#rafting
