VW Bus Front Beam Removal | 1969 Bus Revival Project | Episode 26

In this video I remove my stock front beam from my 1969 Baywindow Bus. I plan to install a narrowed front beam from California Import Parts - CIP1. I had already installed some drop spindles from EMPI a few weeks earlier and when I test drove it my tires were rubbing on the outside edge of my fenders. I Finally decided to order the narrowed beam that I will install in part two of this video. Other note, my bus is a 1969 which came stock with drum brakes. I have converted to a disc brake kit from EMPI. That is what pushed my wheels out plus the wheel adapter that I added to allow for the 5x205 bolt pattern. EMPI only allows for a conversion from pre 1971 to 1971 and later wheel hubs. This hub has the smaller 5 bolt pattern I think it’s 5x113. I wanted to keep the vintage wide five bolt pattern that came on the 1968 and ‘69 models. Leave a comment if you have questions, I’ll try to help out.
