(Kit only weight 12 kilos) into a Bergen weighing 4.5 kilos meant my content was only 3 times the weight of the actual Bergen. On top of that, my Longback PLCE didn't offer the amount of comfort I wished it had, even after the modifications. Switching & ditching technique meant I could shave a massive 7 kilos, and add comfort to my back and shoulders, without compromise the actual amount of kit otherwise placed inside a bergen. The only down side to this way of packing your kit, is that I have lost the ability to move quickly.
