The timeless poem Shamanyo Kshati by Tagore tells the story of a proud and ignorant queen who had set ablaze to a village to feel warm on a cold chilly winter morning when she had been to the river with her friends for a bath. The proud queen ousted her companion who had protested her cruel act.... villages turned into ashes, until she was satisfied. In the courtroom, the Kind her husband was immersed in deep agony and shame on being reported of her act. He asked her to leave the Palace and beg from door to door to raise funds, to reconstruct the village. Gone was her pride, her vanity, her false ego as in remorse she moved out..... The dramatic poem is my tribute to Tagore and Late Smt Amala Shankar whose role in Shamanyo Kshati had enchanted the audience globally 🙏 My prayers to the Creator for allowing me to do thos work of creation.
