As we enter Shamrock, Texas we realized we were in for a treat! Route 66 is still alive and well in this small town and there is a lot of Route 66 Gems to explore. It seams Route 66 has left its mark on all the communities that it winds its way through. Shamrock is no different and includes highlights such as the Legendary U-Drop Inn where Elvis ate while traveling on tour. There is also a really nice memorial to another Music Legend....Bill Mack! Bill Mack was known as the "Midnight Cowboy". He wrote the song "Blue" that made Leann Rimes a household name. He was also a Legendary Disc Jockey that had a late night Country and Western Program that helped Truck Drivers stay awake in the weary early morning hours while on the road.
